Acudetox Yoga: Students of all levels are encouraged to join this class. We will practice yoga asana for 30 minutes after which Jen will offer NADA 5-point ear acupuncture to those interested followed by a loosely guided meditation while we allow the needles to do their work. Acudetox is a 5-point ear acupuncture protocol through the National Acupunture Detoxification Association (NADA). It focuses on five points in the ear to help induce a sense of calm as well as detoxify the body. Possible benefits include: general feeling of well-being, improved sleep, a sense of relaxation, and decreased cravings for addictive substances. Acudetox has also been utilized to help treat anxiety and depression.
Chair Yoga: A gentle practice geared toward seniors age 62+. Class includes seated and standing postures using a chair as support. Great for older students new to yoga and those who may have some limited mobility. Move at the pace of your own body while learning and practicing principles of alignment.
Hatha Yoga: Hatha is a branch of yoga which concentrates in the practice of asanas and pranayama (yogic breathing technique), helping to bring relaxation and enlightenment to the body and mind. Ha (sun) tha (moon) – creating a uniting balance of masculine and feminine opposites. These postures are designed to align and open channels of the body (mainly to the spine) ,so energy can flow freely and we can heighten our spiritual awareness.
The Kid Experiment: Come join the experiment of taking a guided yoga class with your “little” present! Children 3 months old and older welcome.
Sadhana Society: Come explore the power of collective consciousness in this once a month meeting of Sadhanas (yoga practitioners). This class starts with an hour of Mysore style practice for intermediate/advanced practitioners to come together for a freestyle practice within their own needs with their own flow. After savasana, the class will join with the Mahamrityunjaya mantra (provided) for 15 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of breathing, and will conclude with 30 minutes of silent meditation (new meditation suggested monthly by Benny James). This class is designed to be a bridge for those who wish to deepen into the less commonly practiced aspects of yoga, and will be loosely guided by the knowledgeable Benny James. It is recommended that practitioners have been practicing in teacher led classes for at least six months in order to be able to move safely through their own practice.
Slow Burn Flow: All levels are welcome to join and enjoy this yoga class where you will find elements of the traditional vinyasa flow. Not only that, you will hold poses a little longer and feel the burn as you build muscle, inner strength, and stamina.
